The development of transport in Scotland was one of the most beneficial aspects for Scotland's tourism industry the reason for this is that it gained tourists access and entry to Scotland's small towns and cities. There are many different types of transport that benefited tourism in Scotland and still does today are Rail, Air, Car and Ferry. There are also many different ways that tourists can get around in Edinburgh which are the new tram line which is in a straight line that goes through Princess Street and shows tourists views of Edinburgh city centre and the cities stunning views such as views of Edinburgh castle.

One of the most central railway stations link from Glasgow City central. There are over 60 Transport links that trains come and go to from the three platforms at Glasgow Central Station. There are three platforms and also different facilities within the vicinity of Glasgow central. Glasgow Central station is a gateway for tourists from the UK out with Scotland.

There are twelve national tourist road routes which vary in length and the beautiful Scottish landscape is surrounding and tourists can get a good view for themselves whilst travelling by road. These road routes have been chosen not only because of the stunning scenery but because there is many different things to see and do on route to the chosen destination in Scotland. These National Tourist routes are made to be easily assessable for cars and tourists to follow. The road routes for cars also take tourists to routes which lead to ferry ports which is another vital form of transport.
